Nova Scotia Angling Permit

Department of Fisheries

Circa 1953

Collection coming soon!

Long since gone are the days of dropping a hook in a lake and just taking home whatever you wanted.

The province of Nova Scotia has been selling fishing licenses to residents and non-residents alike for decades.

In the 1950's, fishermen had to wear this button to show their permission to fish in our waters.  The buttons are long since gone, but thankfully the trout are still here in most of the brooks, streams and lakes of Nova Scotia.

This collection of Angling Permit Pins was observed at the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic in Lunenburg, NS.
